Pianist and music director: Danielle Orlando
JUDGES:
Let your voice be heard! An evening of vocal fireworks and beautifully sung arias awaits you! For over 40 years, this competition has showcased the brightest of up-and-coming opera stars. Join them for the annual favorite singing competition, where they’ll compete against each other in song. You’ll also have the opportunity to vote for your favorite singer!
At this Friday’s competition, we invite you to cast your vote after hearing our young artists sing not one, but two contrasting arias. That’s right – you will hear twelve of our Resident Artists sing two arias.
Giargiari music director and pianist Danielle Orlando shares the process behind this new format:
“This year, we’re excited to try something new with the Giargiari Competition. The artistic process for this kind of preparation has been intense and creative and also in line with many other international singing competitions. When creating the format for this year’s Giargiari Competition, we kept our audience in mind hoping to provide a deeper look into each artist’s vocalism and personality by performing a second aria.”
