Meet AVA’s New Resident Artists
AVA’s Resident Artists are selected after a rigorous audition process from a pool of international talent, standing out for remarkable technical skills, artistic potential, and unwavering commitment to their craft. “This season, we are pleased to accept 6 gifted singers as Resident Artists at the Academy of Vocal Arts. AVA’s mission is to equip our Resident Artists with the highest level of training possible, and that begins with their live performances at the New Artist Recital,” explains AVA’s President, Scott Guzielek. “This is a wonderful event that debuts our incoming class while also allowing them to sing in a large venue like the Church of the Holy Trinity.”
Resident Artists are immersed in a comprehensive four-year program. The curriculum is robust, covering vocal repertoire, languages, acting, and stagecraft, alongside roles in AVA’s fully staged opera productions, recitals, and concerts. This training approach ensures that each Resident Artist masters their vocal abilities and develops a deep understanding of the nuances of operatic performance.
AVA’s New Artist Recital takes place at Rittenhouse Square’s The Church of the Holy Trinity. Each new Resident Artist will be featured in solo performances, with Musical Direction and Accompaniment by José Meléndez.
