I believe it would not be an exaggeration to say that being accepted to the Academy of Vocal Arts was the most pivotal moment of my life. At AVA, I began to acquire the skills I needed to become the kind of musician, performer, and artist I had always admired but previously lacked the opportunity to become. Through the work of the wonderful coaches, my beloved teacher Bill Schuman, our dear Maestro Macatsoris, and the incredible AVA staff, I learned that the most important step in my journey would be to receive the rich details of our beautiful artistic tradition—passed carefully to me to steward as I take the next step forward.

Opera Outreach Program: Preparing the Audiences of Tomorrow!

Opera Outreach, AVA’s educational program, gives middle and high school students the opportunity to learn about all aspects of opera through comprehensive study guides, followed by live performances of the opera they studied. After each opera performance, students are able to interact with the performers in lively question-and-answer sessions.
