Fellowships

In addition to tuition-free training, the Academy of Vocal Arts currently offers all Resident Artists support through merit-based fellowships.

These fellowships provide monthly stipends of $1,000+, and are awarded annually to current Resident Artists to offset the cost of living expenses while attending AVA.

Requirements

The Resident Artist must meet the following criteria to be awarded a fellowship:

• The Resident Artist must show potential for a major international career in opera
• The Resident Artist must possess an extraordinary dedication to their profession
• The Resident Artist must be in good standing at AVA, meeting the highest standards of academic achievement and professional conduct at AVA
• Recommendations by the faculty and vocal coaches

Comprehensive Scholarships/Fellowships

Comprehensive Scholarships/Fellowships provide both a monthly fellowship (to help living expenses) and tuition support for one Resident Artist annually. Comprehensive Scholarships may be endowed in perpetuity with a contribution of $350,000 or more. The Academy of Vocal Arts is grateful for the following generous endowment gifts which provide significant support for our Resident Artists:

Fellowships

Individual Fellowships provide a monthly fellowship for one Resident Artist annually. Individual fellowships may be endowed in perpetuity with a contribution of $150,000 or more.
