Open Position: Development Associate, Academy of Vocal Arts, Philadelphia, PA
Duties and Responsibilities
The Academy of Vocal Arts (AVA) seeks a polished and enthusiastic professional with an affinity for the arts and fundraising and to join our Advancement team. This team member is essential to the execution of day-to-day operations of the department and will possess demonstrated attention to detail and problem-solving.
The Development Associate will maintain the integrity of all donor data including individual, foundation, and government donors. They will assist with donor services which includes processing contribution and acknowledgement letters, departmental administration, and board administration including meeting materials preparation, recording and preparing minutes, and the maintenance of board records. The Development Associate will support the department with preliminary prospect research and strategic donor cultivation events. They will also manage the production of High Notes, AVA’s annual report.
The Development Associate will be the department’s primary user of Tessitura, AVA’s CRM database. They will use the database to generate distribution lists for appeals and event invitations and utilize its reporting tools to provide insights into campaign progress and donor base segments.
The successful candidate will handle confidential donor and prospect data with discretion and have a reputation for collaborating with colleagues, donors and board members with warmth and diplomacy. The ability to respond to challenges with a positive attitude and juggle multiple priorities and deadlines is crucial.
This position is full time and reports to the Director of Institutional Advancement.
