So you’re new to opera…
November 19, 2018
Perhaps you’ve seen San Diego Symphony’s fantastic “Old You, Meet New You” ad, which introduces you to the world of classical music and how to get started. That got us thinking here at AVA – how can YOU begin with opera? Today, we’re breaking down several performances from our 2018-19 season to help you get started:
- All AVA Haverford performances have $25 tickets for Young Professionals, ages 45 and under! This month, you can still catch Suor Angelica and Le Villi at Haverford on November 27; each opera is just one hour long!
- Russian Romances on December 17-18, held at AVA, have Young Professional tickets for just $10! It’s a great gift for the holiday season, or for the perfect, sophisticated date night.
- Roméo et Juliette – You probably studied Shakespeare’s classic Romeo and Juliet in school, right? Did you know it’s also an opera – which AVA happens to be doing this spring? We’re also excited to announce that AVA will be doing a very special Young Professionals performance of this opera on April 25 with discounted tickets (more details will be announced soon!). A performance will also be held on May 7 in Haverford, and tickets to this performance for Young Professionals are just $25.
- If you’re not ready for an opera production, why not check out a recital? AVA’s Recital Series returns this February and April, which features a shorter musical program. Enjoy dinner in the Rittenhouse area, followed by stunning vocal performances at AVA.
