Resident Artist Cumhur Görgün Wins Stenhammar Prize

Proudly sharing the news that AVA Resident Artist Cumhur Görgün, bass, has won the Stenhammar Prize at the Wilhelm Stenhammar International Music Competition in Norrköping, Sweden! The Stenhammar Prize is awarded to the singer who delivers the best interpretation of the songs of Swedish Composer Wilhelm Stenhammar. The competition is part of a seven-day music festival which is the first of its kind in Sweden, a country that had not had an international music competition previously. This competition was first inaugurated in June 2006 with King Gustaf XVI and Queen Silvia in attendance, and it has been held every two years since then.
