Academy of Vocal Arts Presents Winter Recital Featuring Schubert’s Masterpiece “Winterreise”
Philadelphia, 12/7/2023 – The Academy of Vocal Art (AVA) is proud to announce its upcoming Winter Recital, showcasing the timeless beauty of Franz Schubert’s masterpiece, “Winterreise.” This highly anticipated event will take place on January 9and 11, 2023, at AVA’s historic Helen Corning Warden Theater, and January 13, 2023, at the Church of Saint Martin-in-the-Fields in Chestnut Hill. This selection brings together a world class ensemble of AVA’s Resident Artists who are ready to enchant audiences with their exceptional singing.
“Winterreise,” composed by Schubert in 1827, is a cycle of 24 hauntingly beautiful songs that navigate the depths of human emotion and the winter landscape. AVA’s Winter Recital promises to captivate audiences with a powerful and emotive performance, highlighting the vocal prowess of its gifted artists.
Under the artistic direction of pianist Luke Housner, AVA’s Resident Artists have undergone rigorous training and preparation to bring forth a rendition that stays true to Schubert’s original vision while infusing their unique interpretation into each note.
This event is a testament to the Academy of Vocal Arts’ commitment to nurturing and showcasing exceptional talent in the world of classical vocal music.
