L’italiana in Algeri

Rossini

Conductor: Richard A. Raub
Stage Director: Dorothy Danner

November 8–22, 2015

This was the first-ever AVA production of L’italiana In Algeri.

Blurring the line between blatant sentimentality and utter lunacy, emotions and tensions flare in Rossini’s jovial operatic drama of an Italian beauty shipwrecked and captured by the Bey of Algiers.  And that’s just the beginning of the story, as Isabella turns out to be far more than the Bey can handle!
